Mystery part or Accessory ?

Under the beak of my 1100 I have this black painted steel item, its the angular part in the centre of the picture, what is it? what does it do? (apart from taking paint off the fork legs) anybody

So 58 folks have looked at it, and no replies, I cant see it on the exploded diagram, the paint is peeling and its corroding so it could be either oem or a TT part

Could it be to stop crap from coming up in between the dash and the handles.

Could it possibly be part of a bracket for a light bar?

If it no longer serves an useful purpose, unbolt it.

Not OEM, looks home-made, possibly part of mounting system for HID ballasts, Aux lights or similar?

EDIT....Taff beat me to it, but also, having thought for a second or two, would expect to see more holes in it for lights or something.....

It appears to be very neatly cut and has no holes apart from the ones it mounts on, I think I will just tweak it a little to make it clear the forks, it could stop horizontal spray from flying up under the instruments

Synthetic canbus fluid is toxic, thats why I use the mineral type, which only gives you the squitters, I probably could adapt it as the Touratwat chop o matic "Prepare your veggies like Ewan and Charley on the road of bones" kind of thing

You could be onto something here.

A bit of extra work and you could feed your chopped veggies into an 'adventure' steamer mounted on your exhaust headers.
