One thing I have discovered is that if you have the old cradle, as in most of the GSs then you don't get this problem of trip1 being set to zero when you insert the Navigator V. However, the RS (at least the one I have) has the new cradle, much narrower and which you need to switch on the ignition before you can open it to accept the GPS, whether it is the Navigator V/VI or the new connected ride one. So the problem possibly centres around the new cradle. As I said, back to the dealer...It didn't make any difference. I can tell it has reset because it now has the VIN for the R1300RS in 'My Motorcycle', 'Status' where previously it had the old R1250RS. But it still reset the trip1 to zero after about five seconds. I suppose I will have to go back to the dealer, unless anyone has any better ideas?
