Garmin Nav's use internal "Flash memory" and this will degrade if the unit has not been powered up for some time. (chunks of memory go missing). If the unit can be "seen" by Garmin express, take whatever updates are available and try Basecamp again. When you do this make sure that Garmin express is not running on your machine when basecamp is running, as they both try to access certain parts of the Zumo operating system at the same time and cause conflicts. For all Garmin Zumo's, they work better if powered up and charged at least every couple of months or so to keep the memory and battery in good order.
