Just check my last message to see what you actually wrote and why I read it as I did.
If you can't acknowledge that then I give up............life's too short :banghead:

I'll admit guilt of a poor try at sarcasm but my following responses was to blatant patronism (is there such a word) to people who want to ride in a manner that makes them feel/are safer, be it wrong or right! I can only quote (sorry) my previous post.

"Lets get this straight, I don't give a preverbal flying .... What people wear or do, they can go down the road with lights blazing, hazards on, white helmet, loud exhaust and whistling ferkin Dixie....If it works for them then good on them....I would rather have someone say "Who the feck does he think he is"..than.."Sorry officer I didn't see him"

What I'm trying to say....I s'pose is....What the feck do you or I know and Thomas Huxley might just be right.

Jacal, the problem is that using the LED spots other than as supplementary beam headlights might make the user feel safer but is actually a hazard to other road users, particularly at night. I am sure we can agree to disagree over the use of hazards, but I think most of us would agree that using the LEDs all the time ain't actually a good idea. As to whistling ferkin Dixie and the rest, I'm with you all the way :beerjug:

Never a dull moment oh here I'm so glad (seriously) I joined this lil forum. This reminds me of discussing the merits of Mel Gibson and Braveheart in Zanries chippy Peterhead with some ardent snp supporter I was not trying hard to wind up. Keep it up guys it makes my humdrum carer life come alive. Ps ride safe whatever.

A well considered point of view. I am firmly of the opinion that filtering needs to be done carefully and considerately and we need to take care not to intimidate those stuck in the queue; we don't have a right to force our way through. Flashing LEDs and hazards can easily be construed as aggressive and will certainly defeat the object in a lot of car drivers eyes. If you read some of the comments on YouTube videos aggressive filtering really pisses off a lot of car drivers.

well said. +1

Agree with above, I always filter slowly never in a hurry, and time my merging, and show my appreciation to drivers letting me in etc. which 99% do with no bother
