Bought a 14 month old Nav.II less than 2 months ago. Works well despite the occassional operator error

Went to remove the USB cable from the rear & the "female" part of the port socket came out about 5mm with the cable? Managed to separate the two & push it back in to place but the connection is lost, device no longer recognised. I doubt I've connected the USB cable more than 4-5 times since buying it.

I've returned it to the local BMW dealer who's looking in to a warranty claim (2 years with Nav.II, 1 year with 2610).

Will post what happens. I know what I want to happen but don't believe in counting chickens till they've hatched etc............

Not that any of you care apparently  but North Oxford Group have just replaced my Nav.II with a Nav.II Plus inc. the upgrade to V.7 City Navigator & the 2gb CF card - good guys there, all of them.:beerjug:

V 7 ?

How do you get the upgrade to V7? I have just upgraded to V6.5 via Garmin update procedure. BMW II Purchased last August.

Before the USB post came loose, I was given v.7 (new) but was unable to load as I received a Scratched Disc error message. I didn't bother after that as I was new to GPS.

When my Nav.II was replaced under warranty, it came with v.7 as it was a brand new unit. I've heard of a few people buying new GPS this year & only having v.6 included - old stock?

Looks like we're talking at cross purposes here. The v7.0 that Steve talks of is the Mapsource City Navigator (the detailed maps), whereas if you are talking about Mapsource 6.5 this is the program for your computer that HOLDS the City Navigator maps, these are free for life updates from Garmin's web site.

Good service from NOG by the way :thumb
