My Navigator II is still working, but the top layer of the screen has bubbled up over the past couple of days. I have removed this layer (a rather brittle plastic film) and what is left looks OK, but seems to have some adhesive on the surface. Will try and clean this too.

What is the best option for replacement when it finally dies? Which units fit in the same mount as the Nav II or am I best to forget it and go for something more up to date?

Only the NavIII will fit in the NavII cradle, but you would be far better off investing in a Zumo 660 (or BMW NavIV equivalent) or 550.

Hope this helps.

The Zumo 660 is 3 generations on from the NavII - so it's like comparing a Mk1 Fiesta and a Mark5 Fiesta. They will both get you from A to B quite satisfactorily but there the similarity ends.

Have put a wanted ad up for a Nav II / 2610, otherwise I suppose it is time to scrape together some cash for a Zumo or see if the wife is feeling generous at Christmas ......

2820

Got a 2820 via the Wanted section here with the latest maps, loaded up my waypoints and ready to go again.
