How much movement should there be in the four rubber buffers the mount sits on? Having removed the NAV mount and fitted a Zumo 595 via a shed-fabricaterd mount it wobbles about on the rubbers. The shed-fabricated mount isn't loose..

No more than the wobble that was there when the NAV mount was fitted, I guess. Assuming that is, that the NAV mount:

A. Was fitted correctly

B. Didn’t itself suffer from undue wobble

It wasn't properly fitted in that ther power cable was zip-tied to the headlight adjuster and the power connector fitted aaf despite BMW moulding a slot for it to clip into.
The problem was that the navigator holder (part 20 in https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sh...8-K81-BMW-F_850_GS_0B09,_0B19_&diagId=65_2988) was loose in the slots in the rubber buffers. An M8 washer under each buffer with the spacer bushes pushed into the holes has given the rubbers a little compression and the movement on the holder is greatly reduced. Whether it's enough of an improvement is something I might find out when the roads are empty for His Majesty's coronation.
