Hi All,

I am trying to listen to the route instructions from my Nav V on my iphone. I normally just listen to music via my iphone through sony earphones.

I have synced the units via the Garmin smarklink app and they are connected, i dont need it for anything else but as a test ive tried to see if i can hear anything via music. When i press the music app all i see it this. Any ideas if i can achieve this.

That a suitable A2DP Bluetooth headset is not connected to the device, apparently.

Connect one and you should be good to listen to whatever it is you are listen to.

Hi Richard,

I hope you are well, i was just hoping that i had done something wrong rather than have to buy an A2DP device, i don't want to have the internal headsets as don't want to have people phoning me whilst on the move, not that im antisocial of course :)

You need to have a Bluetooth unit connected & switched to the Nav V for the misc page to show up.
The normal way to connect is iPhone to Nav V and Nav V to NT headset.
I don't think you can listen to iPhone music on a Nav V

Correct. With Nav5 music had to be loaded in MP3 format onto Nav unit.

In theory at least you can listen to iPhone music via Nav6 but half the bods on here who rushed out to upgrade seem to be struggling to make it work properly...

You can save your iTunes music to a folder on your laptop and then copy and paste to your Nav5. The music will then show in the Nav 5 to play through the Bluetooth headset. Works great for me.

Thanks all, as I said I don't really need to listen to music via the nav v, only listen to the instructions of the routes I create, it's not really essential but would be nice and that is what I had hoped to do

I had my Garmin 660 paired giving navigation through my headset and I'm sure the Nav V does the same. I've not got mine to hand to try it.
