Navigator 11 V8 'Jammed up'

Planning a route from the Palma Ferry in Barcelona to France and after asking for a simulation, the cursor cannot get past the first roundabout - it keeps taking sub roads and circling without taking the instructed first exit - My concern, not having tried V8 yet since my upgrade, is the problem will occur when I am on the road at the weekend - anyone had this problem? and is it only on the simulator.

Hi Colin:

I don't think you have provided enough information for any of us to diagnose the cause of your problem. But, I would not worry about it, because if you encounter any kind of routing problem in 'real life', all you have to do is drive past the problem, and then the GPSR will forget about the problem and concentrate on what is ahead of you.

In other words, once you have gone past a point, the GPSR stops thinking about how to navigate through that point.

Ditto what Mike said.

Just a brief couple of guesses:

(1) Are you sure that you didn't click a route tool marker or waypoint on the wrong side of the carriageway? It's an easy mistake to make if the small scale is used for plotting. If you did, the chances are you will be going in a circle.

(2) Did you create an unbroken circular route? Spain / France / Spain begining and and ending at the same point. If so, it's possibly simulating going down the road a bit, looping around and coming back. This is similar to guess (1) but on a bigger scale.
