Navigator III - does it talk?

Hi all,

This is going to be one of those dumb questions, but I'm still going to ask anyway...

I've just received a 2nd hand Nav III and whilst I can run it off the mains quite happily, and everything seems to work, it doesn't "speak" any directions... is there an internal speaker in the unit or does it need an external speaker in order for me to hear anything?

And no, I haven't gone deaf as I can still hear the TV

no built in speaker . .
if you get the bmw cradle for it - it has a mini jack (like a walkman / ipod) socket for the audio out.

Or if you wish to use it in a car, you need one of these.
