Navigator IV Fault

Hi,not great with technology but here goes.Have had Nav IV for many years and am very familiar with it.Recently,particularly when just switched on,it will switch itself off until "warmed up".Biggest problem now is if I tap on a stored location,it will calculate for a while then screen will say "Cannot Calculate The Route" and wont load it (even if its in the same country). Sometimes a few attempts and it works.Its at least 5 years old so maybe done,but other than that its fine.Anyone any ideas ? Thanks in advance,Neil

Save your favourites & do a hard reset. Removing the battery for a few hours could help as well.

Mine developed a similar fault, all related to a failure to locate (sufficient) satellites to properly establish its position.

A hard reset fixed it, temporarily. Or perhaps it just coincided with the device's intermittent ability to work properly. In the end I just sent the device back to Garmin for an exchange (£100?) it being well used, used well and long out of warranty.
