Hi everyone, I'm after a battery charger in the Geneva region of Switzerland. My old battery is about to die, already discharged twice and I think it is on it's last legs, so I bought a new baumer battery YTX14BS (AGM) with the acid separate but I will need a battery charger to give it the first full charge.

Does anyone near by to Geneva or Lausanne have a battery charger fit for purpose that I could borrow? I don't particularly want to buy one for this probably single use.

If not could you recommend somewhere i could take that battery to get it charged (for free)?

Please PM me if you can help out.:thumb2

Much appreciated and a beer or two would be compensation for your help.:beerjug:

If you have purchased a dry lead-acid battery, simply add the acid as per the instructions and let it stand for an hour. There will be enough charge in the battery to start your bike. Take the bike for a half-hour run and the alternator will do the rest.

as above, if its the maintenance free type then fill it, leave it a few hours then start the bike and go 4 a run.

if it has seperate caps for each cell then its not maintenance free.

Charging AGM batteries

Thanks for your reply, after reading the instructions that came with the battery (incidentally I bought it from www.msobatt.ch) they confirm that for this AGM maintenance free battery that I just need to pour in the acid, let stand for 30mins and then plug and play.

No need for the initial charging. Which means more time at the pub.:jager

Btw does anyone know what the pros use for coating battery terminals?

I'm referring the the blue or red looking substance that is on the terminals to prevent corrosion... do you know where I could get some?
