As per title. I ordered these brackets from Touratech 3 weeks ago http://shop.touratech.co.uk/adapter...-045-5163-for-bmw-r-1200-gs-2013-onwards.html .

At the time I was told 7-10 days delivery. Now being told that they are on back order. In plain English they cannot tell me if or when they can supply the brackets

Does anyone know where I could source alternative brackets? It would give me great pleasure to tell Touratech to stick their order and ask for a full refund. Why advertise and take money for items that you don't know if you can supply:mad:

I looked into this in quite some depth when I was selling LED lighting, and Ebay is your friend :thumb2

Gimme a sfew mins and I'll dig up some links, but essentially, there are LOTS of choices for a hell of a lot less, even if you might need to make a bit of a modification to a bracket.

HERE, £13.99 (wording is ambiguous as to whther that's a single or a pair, but 'brackets' is plural......would be worth asking up front)

Also, double check the diameter......if these are a mill or two too big it's easily solved with a wrap of bike inner tube or whatever, and there are 1 inch version as well, just check :)

Brackets

Thanks chap. This why i really love this forum. Great advice and always someone on hand to help a fellow tosser out :D

I shall now go to the garage and apply my micrometer to the engine bars on my bike. A couple of those brackets would secure my Micro DEs on them nicely, I think. Thanks Bill..... :thumb

*Edit* And having just asked the question, I got an instant replying confirming that the auction is for a pair of brackets. :thumb2

Personally, I wouldn't go down the route of crash bar mountings.

Those bars vibrate too much, which is no good for any electro mechanical device, although decent LED lamps are better than most lamps for being solidly built.

I prefer to hang things from parts that are isolated above the engine, IE beak or bodywork not directly attached to the engine.

To make a clamp with a lamp on it stay solidly positioned on a crash bar is possible, but it's a poor base for a mount, being round in section and with its constant vibration.....not a [particularly good platform to start off with.

YMMV
