Needed Route/modem and maybe ISP?

AsI now have a laptop, I could do with a wirless router/modem, my question is should I just pay the £20 to upgrade my orange BB account abd get a free router (£17.99 month upto 8mb connection if or when available), or is there another provider doing a good deal? or is it best to get a modem/router and use a ISP that does not have a free wireless router. I have looked on the web but didn't find what I was looking for.
