I have a netbus trojan trying to access my comuter on a daily basis.

My Norton Anti-virus software keeps preventing it and detected and quarantined 3 seperate .exe files yesterday.

A few weeks ago I noticed that my Norton Anto-virus was switched off so I re-set the defaults and carried out several virus scans over the following days.

Everything seemed normal until yesterday.

Recommendations appreciated

I don't know much ... but I would run a different virus scanner ... an online scan like house call just to see if it finds anything different. It’s free!!!

Also run a program like spy sweeper or spybot search and destroy...

Spybot is said to be the best but I found it hard to understand. It's likely easy to use when you know a lot about programs and computers. But I found myself thinking I’m doing something wrong and I’ll totally mess my computer up nearly all the time.
Spy sweeper I found was a bit more straightforward for the normal idiot computer user.

time now for someone who really knows what to do to step in and save the day!!!!!

I've attached the screen shot of the message.

I have Norton Internet Security and I get netbus trojan's at least two or three a day trying to get into my system. When you get an alert, check the box so that it will not pop up again, and just carry on. If you are concerned you can go online to Symantec and do their security check. The only one fault it found with my XP system was a hacker could get in through locator.exe. Press control+alt+delete and you will see what is running. I just highlight locator.exe and tell it to stop running. I think I am safe:confused:
Someone smart may even tell me how to stop it starting up

Thanks for the replies gents

Cardiff's going to look at it on Sunday for me.

I've checked the do not alert box and hopefully it'll stop the announcement.

I'll run Norton anti-virus system checker periodically to see whats going on.
