whats the best mount for the 1200 adventure for a garmin 2610. ideally one that locks the 2610 to the bracket. i know these are not fantastic, but better than carrying the unit with you if no panniers on board?

Touratech do one that locks the unit on and mounts on the centre handlebar brace but you lose the nice cushion for sleeping on whilst waiting for a ferry.

....and it will hit any tank bag.

Sleepy

I had a RAM mount, but decided to upgrade to the TT locking unit before my 10 000 miles journey in Mexico. Got it in time no probs. Mountet it all the way on the left side. So with a sharp knife and USD 2 of help for the sewing I still had a pillow to rest my head on in waiting for the ferry from La Paz:cool:

Motorrad Concepts mount puts the 2610 in what I consider to be the best place. No vibration problems either.
None of the locking systems I have seen will stop a thief for more than 2 minutes so I didn't bother with one. When I leave the bike I take the 2610 with me.

Me too, the last thing I want to do is revert to paper maps, I came from the SPIII so the 2610 is tiny in comparison

So I use the bar mount from RAM, with the plastic thingy and the Garmin cradle works great and is one of the cheapest mounting options :)

If it's not total security then the BM 1200 GSA mount plus a garmin mount makes it harder than the normal to unlock it. ;)

Hi, looking at the best way to secure my new 2720 - I have ordered mounts from Garmin, Touratech and Ram! Your comment above looks as though you are suggesting that the garmin motorcycle mount will attach to the 1200GSA mount that then clamps to the upper windscreen mount. Have I understood you correctly? I think that would be the best location to mount the unit and using the BMW mount would be neatest. Don't really like the look of the RAM or Touratech stuff.

Yes, see your other thread :thumb2
