When over in Belgium this year, I met the author Paul Foster who has finally completed his mammoth 3 volume tome " In continuing and grateful memory: The Menin Gate"
Paul is a historian, author and tour guide, and he helped me immensely with details about obscure cemetaries, routes, tracks and general off the beaten track places to visit, as well as his having an encyclopaedic knowledge of the more famous sites around Belgium and france.
In return for all his assistance I promised him that I would let everyone know when the 3-volume book was finally published, so I am carrying out that promise.
If you are at all interested in WW1 in Belgium, this is a fascinating historical account of over 1100 men whose names are engraved on the walls of the Menin gate in Ypres. £75 sounds like a lot, but what you get is well worth the investment.
Enough selling from me, here's the website and details of the book.
I have no fiscal interest in this at all, and will be paying for my own copy. I'm merely returning the favour for all Paul's assistance during my stay in Belgium.
