New 30th GSA 1200 ANV MODEL QUESTIONS

Hi

I have a new GSA 1200 30th ANV model onrdered for Sep 2010.

I have a few questions for current owners/riders of that model.

1. Have you got the boxy white lenses indicators ?

Or have you got the skinny led's like on my current 2009 GSA 1200

2. The new bike has larger footpegs than my current bike, I have rubber inserts.

and was wondering if you had come across any for the new 30th ANV Model?

3. I have a Mud slinger fitted to my current 2009 GSA 1200.

Will it go straight onto the new 30th anv model?

4. Since you have owned your new 2010 GSA when riding have you noticed any difference in loss/less engine braking compared to the 2009 GSA?

5. What was the reason you think that BMW have moved the gear indicator from the right hand side of the Computor screen to the Left?

6. Has anyone got some proper photo's of the 30th 1200 GSA anv model if so Would you please email me some to [email protected] it
would help.

7. I was also hoping of getting some tank pad film to protect the white paint from belly rub Anyone know where from ?

8. Anything else to say or should know ?

That'll be the location of it on the 2011 R1250GS

I got one last Satuurday As to your questions:-

1. I've got the LED indicators, I didn't want them but they came as part of the 'Premium' package, which I also didn't want but I got a good deal and it meant I didn't have to wait for a bike built to my spec.
2. I like the metal footpegs.
3. Dunno
4, Dunno previous bike was an 1150, the engine braking on the 1200 is very good, possibly due to the exhaust valve closing when you shut the throttle?
5. Dunno I didn't know they had.
6. Not yet. Go into the dealers with a camera? Any particu;lar bit of the bike you want a pic of?

Footrests are the same part number for all the GSA's including the 2010 ones.
Swap your footrest rubbers over.

They are from the Xcountry which has them fitted as standard.

thanks for that, but
as I understand it and looking at the spec and seeing one briefly in the dealers the 30th anv GSA model has wider footpegs, so i was asking if any
30th anv owners had come across some rubber inserts, cos i likes em on my 2009 GSA.

Nope, 2010 GSA has the same footrests as my 2008 GSA.

I fitted the inserts myself and will be transfering them to my 2010 GSA when I pick it up at the begining of August.

O good cos that's what i will be doing too We called at Rainbow BMW to check and they do look the same as my 2009 GSA so that should be good then just swap em over...

1. I have LED indicators on mine - I think these came with the premium pack;

2. No, haven't came across any, but would order them if I knew where I could get them - I find the gear lever just a little too high, even with adjustment and I think a higher peg would help;

3. Decided not to fit one as the dealer recommended against it as a few customers had complained about them fouling on the swingarm - sure would make cleaning easier!;

4. Can't comment, this is my first GS;

5. Sorry, again, no experience of previous models;

6. I'd be interested in this too;

7. Superb bike, averaging around 51mpg so far - but only just had first service. Used 250ml of oil during first 600 miles.

Hope you got sunshine like we have here this morning it beautiful, anyway yes as i have said yesterday we went down to BMW dealer and double checked the footpegs are the same as my 2009 gsa so the rubbers will fit straight in...
That means you can get some for yours more easy

As to the mud slinger we also checked that and the one on my 2009 gsa which i find very good will again go straight in see them at Nippys)
You too can get one on.

LED skinny indicators (i much prefer them) are on when you order prem pack.

51mpg is better than I get about 46mph on my current GSA.

We did notice something at the BMW shop the GSA 30th anv that was there had both packs on, but the panel below the tank that says GS on was in a kinda SILVER colour, where as the other 30th's we have seen including some pics I have just had sent me the panel is Black? Just wondering why?

Also we asked re 3M tank film and they like it but will not fit it cos it takes too much workshop time up and is non profitible?
I am sending for some from the USA and will get it into th eworkshop and see when my new bike comes and post results with pictures of a good or bad job!!!
