Well I took the plunge. Eventually realised that I could do with a lighter bike, something easy to manoeuvre. Done 70 miles following collection from AMS yesterday and it's already surprising me. Pleased how quick it is and how it doesn't vibrate as you might expect a single to. Think it's going to be a fun summer!

The snap in-gear acceleration has that front wheel lifting. Only 500 miles of running-in left

Boring fart question :- what's its doing to the gallon?

I reckon I had 50mpg on it's first outing. That was 70 miles at 70ish mph with a bloody great mainsail causing huge wind resistance (me). Should loosen up and be better I reckon.
