You can use Google maps, Waze, MRA, OSMand and spotify to name but a few. Works best if you connect your phone and headset to the Honda and use it as a hub. All Apple Carplay and Android Auto apps work through the screen and can be navigated with the numerous buttons on the left hand bar. The connection is wired only and the Honda Head unit can be sensitive to the type of lead used. Also on a bumpy road the wire can disconnect randomly. I have put a bit of bluetack round the USB A connector that connects to the bike and it hasn't disconnected since. Some folk attach a wireless dongle to the Honda USB port and then the phone will attach wirelessly but obviously won't be charged.

A couple of threads testing Android Auto Apps

You can use a Bluetooth dongle for wireless connection, they are (lots of different makes) are pretty cheap and work great. Only negative is if you use nav you battery will drain fairly quick (which is why Honda made you use a wire).

I'm not very technical so can I put my phone in a bar bag . Plug it in and use Google maps on the screen ? Will the phone be charging as I do this ? Sorry if this is a stupid question

Yes phone will charge but you need a Bluetooth headset for CarPlay to work.
I just use a £5 Bluetooth USB dongle to fool the system that a helmet is connected on my Wing.
Ask Doc if you need technical advice. Oh, and the dongle must have A2DP protocol.

Yes.

If you don't want to listen to instructions you can connect any blue tooth headset or earbuds to the Honda Just once then if you connect your phone it asks do you want to pair a headset just click "Do not Pair" and Carplay or AA will start up anyway. You do not need a blue tooth dongle on the AT to use Carplay or AA

Ok ta . Didn’t know that . Needs to stay plugged in on the Wing but it’s slightly older tech

For the 2024 version, you nolonger have to use a headset, it does give you an option to use without now.
