Admittedly I've never been one for the HD or "Cuiser" scene..(although I do have a 12C)...Ive never understoood why anyone would want to go down the bombing down the street with their arms in the air ?...Always strikes me that they are part of a 60's protest march ??? Personnally I think they look stupid...but if thats your thing ...carry on ...

"Arms in the air" I'll post a pic later and you'll see my arms are no higher than my shoulders.
I think hands no higher than shoulders was the maximum legal height for 'bars in some US States...
Yup, meant to say hands are no higher than my shoulders... it's actually very comfortable..As you are in your mid 40's, I would say.....bang on schedule.
You go for it - enjoy yourself. Ignore the Boo-Hiss brigade......

I bet you never owned a pair of skinny jeans, a black leather jacket and some Converse All Stars either :cool

I dont disagree with you..Whatever "floats your boat"...I dont have anything against HD riders per sê...I spent a memorable Saturday afternoon at the New Orleans Mardi Gras back in 2002 (ish..Worked in Louisianna for about 3 years)...in a bar with some real HD riders, drinkin Tequila chasers..Oil Stained denim Jackets, Wrench monkeys from Ohio, Trailer park trash & Women with huge knockers and skimpy shorts...They showed me around their bikes (..Possibly the first time I thought about a bike ???), what distiguihes it from all other bikes (engine of course, sound...), the mods they had made, the "slash -cut pipes" and the relocation of the Oil sump (or whatever...)...Fine...THAT was their lifestyle...through and through...and I see the "art" in most Harley machines whether new or old...For them it is a religion and their lifestyle..like BMW's..or Honda's or whatever...
What I dont agree with is the current "trend" to immitate that lifestyle (i.e the easy-rider comparison mentioned here - Denis Hopper can never be imitated IMHO)...especially 'round 'ere..The Geneva Bankers who think that because they've bought the most expensive Hog, the Jacket & Chaps, the leather covered helmet in Bright orange...and the obligatory "Hair net and comb" (...seriously! I saw one of them get off their bike wearing a hair net FFS! to keep his hair straight!)..that they are not what they actually are..
I guess what I'm trying to say is buy a bike that reflects your lifestyle...Don't buy a bike to buy a life-style..
Im not wanting to start a fight...far from it..

I bought my GSA because I loved the look of it, ....I bought the HD because I ... always liked them....

I love those bars......Whenever I see someone riding like that, it always reduces me to tears of laughter
It looks so fucking stupid, to defy belief.....Brightens my day right up it does
Thank you, for being a part of this cavalcade of stupidity and making an old man very happy![]()
