New bars, waddya think??

Admittedly I've never been one for the HD or "Cuiser" scene..(although I do have a 12C)...Ive never understoood why anyone would want to go down the bombing down the street with their arms in the air ?:nenau...Always strikes me that they are part of a 60's protest march ??? Personnally I think they look stupid...but if thats your thing ...carry on ...:beerjug:

"Bombing down the street!!!" You haven't owned a Harley have you.....

"Arms in the air" I'll post a pic later and you'll see my arms are no higher than my shoulders.

"Part of a 60s March" Sorry, not my era was merely a twinkly in my daddys eye.....:D

As you are in your mid 40's, I would say.....bang on schedule.

You go for it - enjoy yourself. Ignore the Boo-Hiss brigade......

I think hands no higher than shoulders was the maximum legal height for 'bars in some US States...
:toungincheek Yup, meant to say hands are no higher than my shoulders... it's actually very comfortable..

As you are in your mid 40's, I would say.....bang on schedule. :D:thumb2

You think that's bad, I've just bought a skateboard (I shit thee not!). Yeehaaa! Hold my beer and watch this, how hard can it be!!!!!!!!!! :D

...vive le difference, I say. But thanks for the input! :thumb

I dont disagree with you..Whatever "floats your boat"...I dont have anything against HD riders per sê...I spent a memorable Saturday afternoon at the New Orleans Mardi Gras back in 2002 (ish..Worked in Louisianna for about 3 years)...in a bar with some real HD riders, drinkin Tequila chasers..Oil Stained denim Jackets, Wrench monkeys from Ohio, Trailer park trash & Women with huge knockers and skimpy shorts...They showed me around their bikes (..Possibly the first time I thought about a bike ???), what distiguihes it from all other bikes (engine of course, sound...), the mods they had made, the "slash -cut pipes" and the relocation of the Oil sump (or whatever...)...Fine...THAT was their lifestyle...through and through...and I see the "art" in most Harley machines whether new or old...For them it is a religion and their lifestyle..like BMW's..or Honda's or whatever...

What I dont agree with is the current "trend" to immitate that lifestyle (i.e the easy-rider comparison mentioned here - Denis Hopper can never be imitated IMHO)...especially 'round 'ere..The Geneva Bankers who think that because they've bought the most expensive Hog, the Jacket & Chaps, the leather covered helmet in Bright orange...and the obligatory "Hair net and comb" (...seriously! I saw one of them get off their bike wearing a hair net FFS! to keep his hair straight!)..that they are not what they actually are..

I guess what I'm trying to say is buy a bike that reflects your lifestyle...Don't buy a bike to buy a life-style..

Im not wanting to start a fight...far from it..

I bet you never owned a pair of skinny jeans, a black leather jacket and some Converse All Stars either :cool

...Actually I have...hasn't every teenager..:nenau

I started typing a response but I'm afraid I got really bored with this same old, same old. It has been done to death. If you like em, buy one, if you don't, well then don't. :beerjug:

Sorry but you're talking shit, unless that's the mantra YOU use....

I bought my GSA because I loved the look of it, when i rode it I loved it even more and now go on holiday on it every year solo and 2 up. I don't buy all this bullsh*t about lifestyle reflection...
I bought the HD because I was fortunate enough to be able to afford one, always liked them and bloody glad I did. I don't own a pair of chaps, my hair is short, I don't like denim jackets with oil stains on and my helmet is not an orange leather covered monstrosity...

Arent we saying the same thing ?? :nenau :nenau

Basically it's just about honesty (like most things in life)... :thumb2

It's always easy to spot the 'pretenders' - whatever they ride...

But as already stated, this one could go round & round & round.

Peace & Lurve bro's :pullface :censor: :pullface

What a load of old carp :blagblah

I'm just as much of a 'real' HD rider as the next man. I own two (I know, one's in pieces :P ). Just because that's their lifestyle doesn't make it anymore genuine than mine is. :dabone

Do you drift around the world on your GS or, like the rest of us, do you ride to work and a few rallies? Does that make anybody who isn't on a RTW trip a fake GS rider? :tosser

Try being a little less judgemental, you might learn something :blast

I love those bars......Whenever I see someone riding like that, it always reduces me to tears of laughter:bounce1
It looks so fucking stupid, to defy belief.....Brightens my day right up it does:thumb2
Thank you, for being a part of this cavalcade of stupidity and making an old man very happy:beerjug:
