my 1150gs has been on the optimate for 24hrs now and still only turns over a couple of times then clicks away have i given enough time to charge and if so hawker batterys seem to be a good replacement where and how much last thing is it much of a job to chage them over thanks for any help

Hawker available from Motorworks for about £85.

Lots of info on their online catalogue [PDF] page 97 downloadable from the above link.

When I fitted one to my 1100 I had to make an extension because the + lead would not reach the + battery terminal due to the differing post designs.

If your battery was really knackered then it could take 72 hours to de-sulphate , I've brought a number of batteries of all types back from the death using my Optimate.

When you have double green lights showing it's done it's job , and don't touch it till it has , (or it tells you your battery is fu**ed)..........if you do fiddle then it starts it's work all over again .............PATIENCE !!go and have a few ....

This what happening after de sulphating. As above post says it can take a long time. the link below is what happens afterwards.
