Belstaff shop in London( Conduit St.) stock now biking gear ( downstairs at the back:rolleyes:).
Tried on the LWD jacket ( now in 4 colours )which looks like at fine piece but at around £600 is not worth it.
Cadwell Park Blouson is a leather jacket . It has a inner lining for winter and by cleaver zip arrangement it can be turned in a summer jacket ( imagine a mesh jacket with leather on the shoulders and along the back of your arms). It took me about 4 min to undo all the zips and they are covered in a rubber/plastic cover.
Again around £500 , but you do get 2 jackets.
Rockingham Vintage is a nice piece , a short jacket that looks like a Trials but with a modern cut.
They all have protectors ,the leather is heavy & thick.
Chap in the shop told me that by next year they will carry the full range of gear.
Full range here:

The sizing is a mystery. I am 40" chest M , but L was a bit tight , in one model jacket I needed XL:eek.
Those caps as sooooooooooooo camp.....

sad thing is, Belstaff didn't realise that using E&C to boost the brand, that they were actually shooting themselves in the foot...:blast

How would that be then? :nenau Only with you fat middle aged tossers surely? :P

They wear a lot of the fashion stuff in Spooks too

I see Belstaff stuff all over TV now, they've certainly been pushing their celebrity product placement since LWD!

Might have to go and check out the shop sometime. Thanks for the tip off!

They did complain (c+e)in long way down, how wet they were each time it rained.

I think i spotted a 'Trialmaster' or similar on Emmerdale over the festive period!! Go Figure!!!

Belstaff .... just a name now for an Italian fashion house i believe ??

The Hamster and Captain Slow were clearly near the top of the freebie list when they relaunched.

from what I can figure, Belstaff, now Italian owned, manufactures high quality 'fashion' wear. Their whole brand image is based around fashion, attractiveness, and the products have price tags to match. It seems they've kept a token hand in the 'motorcycling' world, and LWD was testament to their seriousness in extending their business opportunities from the original Belstaff philosophy. Personally, I think where the latter is concerned, they have failed, and as long as they continue to be a fashion orientated brand (where the real money is) they won't be manufacturing motorcycling clothing at all in a few years....

Just my 2p....

Belstaff fashion has been big in movies long before Ewan and Charlie - Superman Returns, The Departed, I am Legend, War of the Worlds to name just a few.

I have the wax trailmaster from the 'technical' range - I find it a great all round jacket that's good on the bike and in the pub

Not surprising , the waterproof lining is a short waist length affair made of thin nylon ( forget about Gore Tex or similar ) . At least the young lady ( 6 foot plus Italian bella ) claimed that the jacket is not 100% waterproof.
Cadwell Park Blouson is something that I may consider ( with a discount ) for summer . The way you can take the jacket apart is wicked. Yet it still offers a degree of protection.

Totally agree. They have followed a similar path to Quicksilver. In the latter case they left their surfing heritage behind and went all fashionable

A bit like BMW giving them GS's?
I'll bet they're limping all the way to the bank.

Was that because everytime you want to do it, a 6ft Italian bella comes and does it for you :eyebrow

If so where do I get one :mmmm

Couldn't agree more, the amount of people i've seen wearing them just in the streets just knocking about and doing their shopping are definitely not bikers and wouldn't know one end of one from another.

EDIT : About 10 years ago i chucked out a dirty manky trail master jacket, after seeing what they go for on ebay now i wished i kept it.

Be thankful that because it became a "fashion" product that it survived as a brand rather than another failed British business for the history books :rob

Actually, I think you'll find that what happened was the Phoenix NW who previously owned the Belstaff name and marketed proper motorcycle clothing with it, sold the mark to some Italian design house for quite a substantial sum of money.

a larger sum than they could have made out of it by making a motorcycling product :blast

it wasn't as big a money earner as distributing Arai was it? :rob

I've got a leather trailsmaster - Jack Dees old cast off
