Thanks Luci....and thank you for your kind voicemail.

No doubt we will meet up in the near future.

I know this must have been aired before on here....accept my apologies in advance.......what recommendations do people have for cleaning/polishing aluminium panniers.

I know how to deal with the rest of the bike but I have no idea of the best way to deal with the panniers.

Yeh that was me.... Enjoy the new bike, where are you thinking of heading off to on your tours?

I have a tentative plan for Morocco....and I have a hankering to explore the area north and east of Istanbul ....where the destiny of the Roman Empire was determined.

If your off on a long trip....BMW have just bought out a long distance seat for the 800....i was sitting on it in the shop today..it is narrower at the 'thigh' area, so you don't get that digging feeling in the thigh when you put a foot down. It has a scooped out bit for your bum to sit in, in fomfort....£216 incl VAT.

Have fun:clap:clap

Luci

Think the standard seat will be fine for me .......long legs so I need the distance between seat and pegs.

I was advised to coat my panniers with a layer of WD-40 before using, getting it nicely rubbed in (like you would a new cricket bat with linseed oil).
Then all you need to do to clean is us some luke warm water and wipe it down. The lubricant also acts as a great water repellant :blagblah
