Picked up my new Dakar today from Rainbow......

Went down with Legger to get it and met up with Howie (thanks Howie for the picture taking) and also Jimb

Place was very busy with 6 bikes going out before mine.........

Superbly prepped as ever.........(thanks Leigh in the workshops)

Cheers......to Shaun and Graham for the pro handover...............pleasure doing business as ever

Now for the makeover and transformation.......more later

Great news Johnny, have you posted pics, as sometimes my server won't recognise them for some reason. :(

Guess the transformation will keep you off the streets for a little while at least :)

Great day for you JB... nice 'bike indeed :thumb

Sorry I wasn't there, would've been, but housebound after a hernia operation Thursday

I've posted a reply in another thread, could send you a PM but might be of use to others...

The 1100/1150 tank bag fits better on the 650 than the 650 tank bag does

It's more expensive, but far better build quality. You just need the front metal bracket and rear zippy bit off the 650 bag mounting... hey presto :D

Hi JB, Nice bike looks spookily like mine :) Is the centre stand BMW OE? if so how much does it cost?

Best regards

Cusi

Centre stand is TT @ £115 (best centre stand option for Dakar) and I've fitted their centre stand plate too

Strange thing is that the side stand used to clout the TT centre stand when they were both retracted, however it doesn't on the latest 2006 bikes, so BMW must have modified the sidestand, I guess :thumb

Limping round nicely, with nuts the size of a melon and as black as the ace of spades ... Daren't cough or sneeze :censor:

But hey, I get my new 'bike in a couple of weeks... now which one shall I go to Longtown on Johnny? Which one you using?

:beerjug:

Hehe I will have to say that although I am happy for you getting a sparkly new dakar....the older B&W and Blue white and Red looked a bit better. Hopefully you still have the older one too?

Congrats and ride ride ride!!!

PS: Micky I hope you get better soon too... (It seems I have had to write that quite a lot recently...)

Cheers Komatias.... :beerjug:

Agree totally that the earlier blue white and red Dakar's were simply the dogs danglys as far as colour schemes go :thumb
I like to see the '04 blue and silver on other peoples bikes, think it looks great, but didn't want it for myself for some reason... so changed to silver :D :D
