Had new set of discs and pads and have now bedded in. Lift the front wheel up and it can be rotated freely but will bind slightly for about 1/4 of a revolution. Is this ok or should they either not bind at all or bind all the way around?

If it binded in places then I'd have thought something is out - disc not tightened uniformly; shite underneath mounting surface, etc. I've read several threads that touch on this subject but none of which give the gospal answer. The closest I have found was http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13579 which I shall try out this weekend. Any help welcomed. Thanks.

No they shouldn't, but how much are we talking about? A serious bind, or a slightly detectable drag in one spot? No disk is perfect.

My 1150GS did this though not severely. Never seemed to cause any problems in over 30k miles.

Just a slight skim - it doesn't stop the wheel dead when it comes into contact with it having spun the wheel gently by hand.

TBH I've not checked my GS, but, just abouut every bike I have owned has done this to an extent.

Then I think you are just fine. Ride, enjoy.

Rock on - no bother .... pretty much every bike does that ... if the disc was warped you would feel 'pulsing' in the brake lever at higher speeds ... cheers
