New DR Z4S

It does seem overpriced and the lack of a 6th gear off will put many off.
I'm sure Suzuki will be discounting them by end of summer '26.

As a (2000) DRZ owner that is considering upgrading/refreshing, I concur with both of you.
I would have happily bought a new one, but 2k less seems the most agreeable price for it.
I think you can find some (well) used 701s Enduros at around the new DRZ pricepoint. The weight seems similar.

If not seen Nathan's first thoughts are brilliantly conveyed (as ever). Never seen him so pi$$ed about a bike really! :D

Hamstrung by the 5 speed box and the ergo's of the old DRZ400s - for it to retail at £8000, is going to flop in light of the other competition which is out there

If we look at it in another way (me included)... and if the inflation calculator is correct, 8k today would have been between 4.5 to 5k in 2001/2002.

I was out on it the other day on the trails. I like it. Great trail bike. I dropped it twice. Still running stock tyres so need to get swapped out ASAP. I'm in two minds. Great bike on the trails - effortless, but throwing £8k down on exposed Devon slate just doesn't feel right! And if it's no good on the road over long distance (IMO), as I say, great bike, but I struggle a bit to see where it sits, with those road limitations, at that price. £6995 and I'd probably think job done.

Though for people happy with the price, who want a reliable, capable trail bike that's softer and more forgiving than enduro bike, it could be a great bike.

I bought a new DRZ400-E (the enduro one) for £2950 otr complete with legaliser kit fitted

I know it was back in 2001 but the price of this new one is a little OTT :ROFLMAO:
yes it is a bit ott but there's not much if live these days that isn't really . that is equivalent to £5570 today and £8000 would have been £4200 in 2001
was that discounted or full retail the £2950 ?

There was a bit of a discount on it. I never buy motorcycles at the asking price but that was back in the day when we had two Suzuki dealers in Newbury (y)

I’ve had six or seven DRZ’s and never paid more then £3200 for a new one. First one in 2000 was £3000

Yes and that’s about what I’d want to pay for a new one. The new KTM 390 enduro is about that price
, they need to sort the stalling issues though.

My very ill mate has just bought the SM version , fitted yellow plastics from the S and ordered a full system from USA !
He’ll probably be no longer with us by Easter . He’s also got a new Africa Twin he’s done 5 miles on .

I’ve already got his ‘old’ X-ADV and X Diavel . Not sure I want /need a DRZ, though I did have one as a loan bike and it was lovely and light to ride .
