On tuesday i will take delivery of my new bike a F650gs. i have been searching for a few months for another bike and had narrowed my list to tiger 800, transalp or f650. i am delighted that its turned out to be a 650 as i felt the trannie although bullet proof may be a bit long in the tooth. the tiger (although a fine bike) just looked a bit cheap to me. on top of that this forum seemed the most welcoming informative etc so roll on tuesday

enjoy your new steed. i think youve made the right choice. the transalp is bullet proof but boring, the tiger is exciting but definately not bullet proof and the GS is a mixture of both. :)

You made a good choice. I have had my 650 for about a month now and I love it. Its great on road and off road.

feck off you 650 (that is a 800) riding poof

+1

sounds like we are getting soft......:D :D

Welcome - had my 658 a bit over a year and love it. Just got back from a 3000 miles jaunt across Europe through avalanches, mudslides and some sub-zero stretches - it did me proud through them all.

Roll on the farkling!

Hi redhand,

Roll on Tuesday tick, tock, tick, tock, .................................. tick

I think the other bikes you mentioned are also great bikes :thumb2

nearly got an Alp myself, But F650gs was my choice and the bitts to add is from a huge selection for that we thank the F800GS :thumb & your right about the forum :D :D

Great choice, enjoy :beerjug: tick, followed tock....

rce and ash you have to curb these homo-erotic feelings you clearly are harbouring for me. i hardly know you.
Two days to go and the list of accessories is growing longer. first is a comfort seat i think. i just missed a sargeant seat in for sale section

I recently bought a F650 too - mine's a light blue one
Also in Leeds, may see you at Squires bike cafe sometime!

Test rode the Tiger 800 last week, nice bike handled well etc, yet to try the BM, which I think is down on power to the Triumph? Did you notice this on your test ride?

of the three i was interested in (f650 tiger transalp) i did not test ride the tiger. it is reputed to have a sweet engine but the finish for me was not up to the standard of the other two. the fact that it had more power was meaningless to me as i would never utilise it. bike arrived yesterday but my back has gone so i am resigned to looking at it in the garage until it recovers

Just bought an ex demo 2012 F650GS SE from Pidcocks in Nottingham and it's being delivered Tuesday. Got sick of keep dragging my RT out of the shed everyday just for the short ride through town to work and the 650GS seems to be the answer. I was really impressed on the test ride, the damn thing is as light as a feather, turns on a penny and goes like stink, absolutely perfick as as they say round here.

Good choice of bike there. I had one and it was pretty damn good. Get out on it as much as possible and come and meet some of the other oddballs, err sorry I mean tossers on here

Keep in mind the old adage.....

BHP sells motorcycles but it's torque that makes them go fast.

Tiger is a thirstier bike and is yet another example of Triumph doing what they do best, which is copying other people's ideas/ designs.

No thank you!
