Hiya

Been riding the roads of Wales for 20 years now on various bikes but I have just discovered a new favourite strech (for the time being:thumb)

been on it many many times but recently I have gone out in the week and early morning and had a clear run on it.It was so good I rode it twice.

a483 from Crossgates to Newtown.

If you like yr roads fast and twisty its the bollocks,
plenty of shell gripped corners of all radii.

went for a ride yesterday and ended up doing 369 miles around wales.

05 r1200gs(aka ME109:ronno) 55k the best bike I have ever owned bar none and that includes the 3 Hondas I currently own as well.

My mates think thats the dogs dangly bits, I did it for the 1st time in June when we went to the Lakes, I'm very much a novice but can see the attraction, breakfast at Crossgates then a buzz up to Newtown :thumb2

I agree a superb road. I have not ridden it for a few years as it was getting plod attention! I prefer it from The Newtown end though. A definate power ranger killing zone for a smooth ADV bike rider, oh yes. Shit I may have to give it another go now, I'm in West Wales this weekend a little detour on Sunday may be in order now!!!!!:blast

Its a great road, but frightens the shit out of some folk :D

Planning a few days in Wales at the end of the month so I`ve added it to the "must do" list.........:thumb

I think its better going south than north but who cares - just do it both ways!:D

I tend to keep it for weekday trips - less bikes, no copters and less chance you'll see a fellow biker in the ditch - not uncommon!:augie

Once you're ridden it a lot,try riding along it at as near to 60mph as you can,no going faster,no going slower.Fookin hard work that:bounce1
