Anyone got a decent set of summer gloves they can recommend?

My current pair (yes i'm still wearing them, i'm 'ard innit ;)) don't sit over the cuffs of my leathers nicely, even more so on the GS becuase of the riding position.

I was looking at something like Held gloves, they have to be quite lightweight, with kevlar knuckle and finger protection for those moments when you just have to smash some t**ts wing mirror (i've scored 3 strikes this year so far!:D one at 90mph!) but have a large cuff, to afford better protection. (oh and they have to be predominantly red/black to go with my bike and leathers...yes i know, what a tart :D:D:D)

Russ... I'm wonder why you posted this in the "New 1200GS" section as it has nothing to do with the 1200?
I see there is another thread on "Security" which has also been started in the New 1200GS section, again, nothing specifically to do with the 1200!

I'm not having a pop at the 1200 (that's been done to death) but it would be nice to see a less 1200 centric view of the world.

Dunno actually, wasn't thinking!

But when i first joined there was a definite exclusive attitude to 1200 owners by 11xx and air/oil head owners.

The same reason why i haven't become a sponsor i suppose

The other members have to share blame for making the 1200 forum what it is IMHO

Yup, I can kind of understand that... I just think it's time for all that stuff to be put to bed.
We all ride GS of one flavour or the other... I've been on rideouts with guys with 1200s.. good blokes.. no need for any of us to be parochial.

100% agreed :beerjug:

Perhaps a mod would be kind enough to move this thread to somewhere more appropriate

Ta :)

Can recommend Alpinestars GP-Plus glove. Been running a pair for four years now. They're on their last legs, but I'm going straight out to buy a new pair, no questions asked. They have kangaroo skin palms, which give great feel. Good knuckle protection for punching out wing mirrors :D Just about OK in the depths of winter, if you've got heated grips.

You can get them on line for about £90

I really like the look of the BMW GS gloves for summer riding. Just wondered if anyone has any experiance with them.

(Posted this on the 'Equipment' section as well)

I have been wearing them in temperatures ranging from mid 60's to low 90's F and find them excellent.
I really hot weather I switch to motorcross gloves.

I bought a pair a few months ago, there really good, give great feel and you can wear inners underneath without stretching them to much.

Been wearing them in all weather, heated grips help, but I'm looking forward to summer to give them a good test. I also bought a pair of the BM Pro Winter Gloves, there good as well, not to bulky for winter gloves and feel nice and cosy!!

Cheers

I've been using BMW GS gloves for three years and they are great. They are well made. I use them all year round as with the heated grips your hands warm up quick.:beerjug:
