New gs

Hi all,I pick up my new 1200gs on friday and if you have any rideouts or meets in the west mids area which I can take part in and meet other owners for tips and advice I would be much obliged if I can tag along.As I am new to the bmw scene as I have only rode Kawasakis before that and basically from friday on will be a learning curve for me,albeit a very pleasurable one.I do most of my riding on the road but trail riding really appeals to me and my first tour is booked for september around Devon and Cornwall with the chmc where I anticipate a load of stick for buying a bmw.All the best Limey

Welcome to the site and the 1200 is a brilliant bike.

We have regular meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month so keep an eye out on here. The next one is on Tuesday 5th August and the Broom Tavern and I`ll get a proper thread on here when I have a minute.

Thanks for the replies guys,I will be needing lots of advice,have just booked my first tour following my family down to Alicante on the gs.They are flying,I am sailing to Caen from Portsmouth and riding down to Alicante.Have got E101 and europe cover on insurance and the Bmw breakdown assist so I think that should be enough.Hopefully I can pop into one of the meetings but as I work away from home it might be difficult.All the best Limey

Thanks for the invite mutley,done that route this year on my z1000 would love to do it again but have a job on next weekend which was put back from this week and could`nt get anyone out this weekend.Limey
