Looking to replace my 08 gs with a triple black, does anybody know what kind of percentage discount is the norm ? I understand the dealer needs to profit from the deal to stay in business etc, would just like to hear from anybody whos recently bought.

Cheers

I'm in the process of signing on the dotted line still undecided between triple black or rallye the dealer is getting the arse with me because I keep changing my mind, anyway if your buying through BMW finance You will get a thousand pound deposit contribution I got a set of varios as well and still trying to get the first service free, if your buying cash there are pre reg bikes about for about £12000 if you haggle, I was going to go pre reg but with a discount of £500 and the first service thrown in it was still better to buy new as the px price I got was more, they obviously get more bonus or new bikes, it depends on your circumstances ie px cash or finance but haggle whatever. Hope this helps.

Some dealers don't offer discount but can offer well over book for your trade in to compensate :thumb

If you've got the time, contact as many dealers as you can get to via public transport/lifts off mates and get them to give you their best price. When they know they have to work for your business against other dealers you'll be surprised how far they'll go. One dealer offered me £100 towards travel expenses, another some free extras, i ended up saving nearly two grand over list price and got a free first service. Granted, i had to travel to Birmingham from Cardiff to buy it but 2k is 2k!:beerjug:

That's a pretty impressive saving, was that on a current model or one that had just been or going to be replaced ie a single cam just before/after the release of a twin cam?

Anywhere from 5-10% in the norm in my experience

I think you may have just missed the free panniers promotion though unless you buy a pre-reg bike that may have them

There is a 'dealer contribution' deal on at the moment...it equates to £800 off a GSA!

Best idea is to get on the phone and ring a few dealers, get their prices, play them off against each other, then balance up what suits you. :thumb2

Sometimes a few hundred quid dearer but local, with good customer servive, fast back-up, might be a better option.

I bought the GSA last September (twin cam), didn't intend on loading the extras on but the bits i wanted were in different packs so ended up with things i'm not particularly interested in like tyre pressure monitors etc. Added all the luggage to take my wife away as the soft panniers i've used before on my other bikes were just a cock ache to use. I could have ordered a 2012 colour but didn't fancy red and the beige/white made me want to vomit (sorry anyone who bought one) so maybe this made the offer so good. I work all over the country so have no issues with travelling for the best deal, it still took me three weeks to get down to the price i was happy with. Don't forget, dealers love finance, i'm pretty sure you can buy on BMW finance and pay the lot off after a couple of months if that's a viable option. Might want to check this mind incase its illegal. Finance suits me, so that's how i buy my toys. I found my best price at Clarkes of Rednal, i bought my K1200s from them a couple of years back and they were good then to, ive also bought extras from them in the past and they've matched internet prices for me, which you cant fault really.
Other good prices came in from Riders of Cardiff and Benham Wolverhampton.
Good Luck, take your time, they want your business!!:beerjug:
