I dropped my bike off for service at coopers this morning and picked up the new gsa demonstrator for a few hours. I headed out towards Sunnyside and on to Dipton then onto Consett and up the a68 to Corbridge as I have never been over that way for years. I stopped at the Derwent Reservoir to take a few photos then headed up to Jedbourgh for a cupper and fuel. After fueling up I headed back towards Newcastle via the ranges of course but time was getting on and I was supposed to be back for 12 noon. I did just over 160mls. The differences that I noticed between my bike (08 gsa) and the new double overhead cam bike were that the new one is more throttle responsive, it revs easier, has a more throaty exhaust note, the speedo clock face is different and are easier to read. Where it tells you what gear you are in is on the left hand side of the clocks, as on the 08 gsa it is on the right hand side of the clocks. It was a back to back comparison I was quite impressed but would I buy it now the answer has to be no as to swap an 08 with 4000mls on the clock and over £3000 for a new one which is basically the same bike.
