New ipods and price drops

I've said it before, itunes is the only music software that has worked flawlessly for me. I've had a few other mp3s which were crap ... software just would not work ... my 8gb ipod goes everywhere with me. Superb kit.

opposite for me i was setting up one for a mate and i had all sorts of problems.... that wouldn't show up till nearly 25 gig into the music transfer.. where it failed with no songs on the iPLOD:spitfire:spitfire

mp 3 's

I lived in the "better digital music players are made by most everyone else" camp for years...

But when the Nano got to 8 Gb, I had to have one... love the little sucker... Lots of music can ride anywhere as it's so light and small. Nice interface.

So I guess I'm a convert, after a bunch of years of iRiver ownership.

I am a techno dinosaur , and I had an I river , which I liked ..............but after a year or so it went and packed up , so Father Xmas got me a creative zen .............and I liked that too .........but it too packed up [ screen seized ] , so I repaced it with an 8gb Nano as they didn't have a direct replacement available .
The Nano is great [ if I can use it , anyone can ] , but my pc knowledge is crap , so currently I have songs listed on the Nano a bit all over the place [ I need to rename them I think ] - I use i tunes , and after 3 months have just figured out how to manually manage the music .......... it's easy to use [ for that read IDIOT PROOF ] .
I did look at Media Monkey [ doesn't that sort the music files out for you ? ] , but when you download it , you get asked what sort of files you want it to sort , and the list that comes up is so long [ I didn't know what I should be choosing ] - it seems to check everything on the pc ?

Ipod's

For your info....

The new ipods are far superior to the previous 5g model. The case is now stainless steel and ali, and will last much longer than the previous models.

The 5G version scratched very very easy!

Battery life is now up to 40 hours.

The new touch screen versions are very cool as they give a 3.5" screen, but look at the hard drive size - very small indeed.

I use my ipods all the time, and will be purchasing a new "classic" version

Don't get suckered into buying the old stocks as the new ones are much better value for money - much bigger hard drives etc.

Hope this helps

Arre you ripping CD's or downloading? If you're connected to the internet whilst ripping CD's, iTunes automatically looks up the data and correctly names all the tracks, along with the artist, album title, genre etc... This is one of the features I really appreciate about iTunes.

3g 20GB ipod still on original battery but powered off the bike for good measure..

Shuffle2 as well, both work great with laptop itunes..

I load music to itunes from this place... http://www.mp3sparks.com/

Big savings over itunes...:thumb...

Just got a shuffle today, thanks to charliegadget :thumb2

First time I've used itunes or an ipod.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy :clap

I like the way you can get it to randomly load a selection of your tracks to the shuffle. You get little musical surprises each time it plays a track you hadn't heard for a long time or even forgot you'd got :)

This is my weapon of choice! :thumb

It is totally brilliant, has a built in, but replaceable, rechargeable battery that lasts for ages, good sound quality, (with these ear buds), easy to use, and if you buy from fleabay as I did and get yours from the USA, the FM radio is enabled and you'll pay in $s what it cost in £s over here! :thumb For some weird reason, the radio is disabled on European versions although you can get a patch to enable it. :thumb

managed to put my daughters new ipod through the washing machine it spent a week in a bowl of rice and in the airing cupboard after a recharge it has been working fine :thumb2

I'm dead impressed with the ibudha........

Just got a 160GB today

From the Apple Store, Meadowhall, Sheffield

V V nice, new interface looks cool, currently loading it up to the max with music

Ooh that looks interesting. I've been contemplating the 8gb Sony flash player, but that's still £144 tax free

What's the sound volume like on the bike etc? TVMIA.

The Sandisk Sansa volume is good enough for me on the bike, but there's always the Boostaroo(?) if you need more

Isn't this the dodgy Russian one? I thought the credit cards had blocked it :thedummy
Is all this free of digital Rights Stuff ?

I bought the missus a 30gb Ipod video as a christmas pressie, and now i use it more than her:o

I bought a ipod head unit for the 4x4 and we used that for the trip to Morocco, no stacks of cd's kicking around getting scratched:thumb2

I find audio books are great on the bike for the commute, listening to Palins Around the World in 80 days at the mo, very entertaining it is:thumb2

Still can't manage to get the Ipod to shuffle just a single playlist, like you can on iTunes:nenau Anybody sorted it yet?
