Hello all, I recently purchased my 1st ever BMW a 2008 R1200GS, thinking of turning the clock back and taking myself camping to the Orkney Isles in July.
I've discovered my bike has a power socket similar but smaller than a car type, all I can think I'll need it for is to charge my mobile phone so I can tell the wife I'm lovin life. Anyone got any pointers as to what I should be looking for, for this smaller connector? a BMW device or something aftermarket?

Think they are referred to as DIN power sockets, easy to find, but the best start would be to head off to Maplins and get a single din to 2 power sockets so you can charge the phone and the ipod too

I build a bit of an electronic daisy-chain to solve this!

Plug a DIN to car cigarette lighter socket converter in to the bike
Plug a car cigarette socket to USB converter into that
Plug a retractable USB to USB-micro lead into that
Plug phone in with USB-micro

But if I had a car charger for this phone I'd use that instead of the last 3. It takes up hardly any space though.

they are available from a site member too

cant bloody remember who it is though.....

they are about 3 quid if i remember right,

a tip

try get the type that doesnt fall to bits when you remove the screw to take it apart, :augie
