new laptop printer

can anyone recommend me a neat small printer that I can carry round with me to jobs,no need for colour but preferable? and can easily plug into laptop and then be chucked back into car/top box?

These were common some years back but are a sod to find now. Canon and HP still make some but, I guess, compared with desk printers they don't sell enough for the retailers to bother with them. Compared with normal office printer they are a bit pricey. Doing a Google on "portable A4 printer" should find you some.
