Received Nippy Norman's latest "deluxe" LED light array this morning. Fitted it in about 3 minutes - very simple indeed.

It has an adaptor which fits straight into the bolb socket on the bike, and the light array then ingeniously screws onto this adaptor. Fits fine and works. Very bright, and lights up quickly in that way that LEDs do.

It also has white downward facing number plate LEDs to keep things legal.

I did have a "before" and "after" but my camera has autoexposure, and cos the LED light is much brighter than the normal one, it doesn't show the difference very well.

looks good Tobers; no problems or interference with the Can bus system ? you just fit it in and that's all ?

Very nice indeed, and hopefully very noticeable indeed too!

Anyone know if these can be used with the white/clear lens?

When you say much brighter, how much brighter, what are the lux values ??
In my experience I have yet to see an aftermarket LED array even match a filament bulb let alone exceed it.

Measure it with a light meter and compare it to an ordinary bulb, measure it 10-12 inches from the source and post the lux values.

I would like an LED rear so am interested in the results.

Have them as well and yes you can use them with the clear lens - they're available as a package...

Not sure about the de-luxe -v- standard. More LEDs is my guess.

Seems to just plug in and it has a resistor or two which will no doubt replicate the resistance of the original bulb to keep the electronics sweet.

I dont happen to have a lux-meter to hand. However, my eyes tell me the light is about 22.4% brighter with the LEDs :D

you could work it out using a manual camera set the same for each type - then somehow work out the increase in exposure required divided by lens aperture subdivided by cloud cover or sunshine - - but only on wednesdays
