I am gonnie bite the Bullet in 09 , and buy a New puter .
I am no whizz , i just check my mails , Read articles of interest on Web Pages
, Occasional Letter store lots of Caja Sahel Related photos which are
very important , as a lot of the stuff i make are one offs.
What do i need , Wheres the Best place to buy it ?

Get an ebook thingy.

These are small sized computers designed for internet use. Although they can do much more.

Examples are:

Samsung NC10
Asus Ezee PC
Dell does one too.

My mate recomended 'morgan computers', v good online prices.
Get loads of advice (free from pc selling shops but filter out the bs by talking to at least 2 !!) Plenty of sales bargains out now and most pc's do far more than most of us really need.
Get somat a tad more than you need now though and you will be 'future proofed' .......for a short while anyway!

If you've got £2K to burn then buy a mac, either a Macbook Pro or a MacPro depending if you want a desktop or laptop.

I 'converted' to a mac just recently and have to say it is far superior to windoze especially slow Vista. One thing I'm really impressed with so far is the sleep on my macbook pro, 'it just works' is true, windoze sleep always goes wrong (loses wireless, crashes with some apps etc) whereas with a mac I can put it to sleep several times a day and within seconds of switching it back on I am back to where I was.

My 2p.

PS the screen is superb also and don't forget educational discount from Apple if you can access that (you are a student/teacher or can use a member of the family).
