Did you ride the new Explorer ? I left BWM 3 yrs ago after giving up on my 2013 1200gs wc which was about my 7th gs and 25th BWM.

Ended up with a 15 plate Explorer which was a great bike. Recently decided to swap and gave the latest GS another go. Not for me, got myself a 2017 Explorer XCX. Personally Just don't think the GS is in the same league.

Thanks, yeah I had a 2015 Explorer before the GS but the build quality was shocking. It went back to Triumph 6 times, water pump seal failed allowing oil into coolant, sensor failed meaning rev limiter was erratic, clutch spring failed, gear selector rod bent, it was also too top heavy and slower than the GS for me.

That was all in 18,000 miles. I use my bikes everyday in all weathers so just couldn't count on it, had to go.

GS the GS since end of Jan, done over 4K miles and it's never skipped a beat - yet!

Remap of ECU

Hi, great ride, i have a 2015 R1200 GS and think it is a great bike, just fitted a full Akra system, did you have your ECU remapped by BMW, any info appreciated?
Sounds good and loads of punch and mpg does not seem to suffer unless really lay it on.

Initially I just had the full system but a few months ago I took 'Herman' to HillTop Motorcycles and let Geoff work his magic. It went from 95bhp stock to over 116bhp at the rear wheel and it goes like a TRAIN!
