New route to Estonia?

Met a Russian biker in Estonia who said a vehicle ferry is planned between Rostock and the island of Saaremaa off the Estonian coast, starting summer '07 - might make for an easy route to the delights of Estonia while bypassing the humdrum grind through Poland Latvia and Lithuania
 
Ain't so bad. Wroclaw, for example, is a great town as is Kaunus. Lorries are out to kill you and the rutted roads need attention but generally it's an interesting and different journey. A good choice would be to do the round trip - up to Stockholm to catch the Tallink ferry (dead posh) to Tallinn then the Poland route back (or there).

That's exactly what we did, and then spent four days in Poland. Treblinka was a sobering experience made even more poignant by a visit to the nearby and infamous Hitler's Wolfs Lair. An evening spent in the old part of Torun was expensive fun but on the whole I found Poland a disapointment
