New showroom in Riyadh

New BMW bike showroom has opened in Riyadh.

Opened 9th Feb. Had a look there yesterday, not bad at all.

One mechanic was trained in Dubai.

3 R12GS on the floor - SAR64k each.
1 GS ADV - SAR67k (iirr)
1 650 Dakar SAR47k
plus some other things with tupperware.

Prices seem high, geared to win over the HD guys, I guess, but not to inspire the frugal.

Good to see a showroom here! Where me next year's bonus?

About time there was a bike showroom in Riyadh. Why should Jeddah have all the fun.

Still, wouldnt fancy riding around there though - the hobby seems to be to try and run bikers off the road as far as I could tell when I was there.

 

[Rugged Path]

Was there for the nights bit of a do. Arabic coffee and loads of tit bits to munch on. After a 600 kms ride to get there, the only boxer in view that wasn't polished to the hilt. Stayed at the Sheraton but was not worth the money for another night so rode to Dammam on Thursday. It was cold and windy for this time of year.

Bikes are expensive but, as the German BMW rep pointed out, it is cheaper than importing; taking everything into account.

Buy from AbdulRahman's shop and make him successful. If anyone fancies a ride up to Kuwait one weekend, let me know.

Fair play to you, boy! That was a good spin to see the place.
I met his dad at the shop on Thursday, a real gent.
Abdulrahman rang me this morning to know if he could do anything for me! I'll drop in next week for a cup of tea. Would love a 12GS! It's only money. Maybe he can suggest a cheap deal on the never never.

Yes, it was a fair spin going back as well. Bloody wind is a hassle, especially with all that sand.
I hope you buy something new and expensive for Abdulrahmans sake. Keep him happy.
Will you be travelling down to Dubai bike week with the Riyadh crew? Except for giving the bike the once over, I am ready and waiting to rock'n'roll.
