Just finishing off the 6000 mile servicing and all that and now onto adjusting the throttle cables / sync .
Last year I found one of the cables had badly frayed so I replaced all of the cables to the new style throttle / fast idle type.
Think luck was with me that day as I got it sync'd pretty quick and its been running fine 99% of the time throughout the winter
My question is and it is one I should have asked last year!!!!
at the handlebars, how can you check to see if the cables are at ''factory setting''
I was fine with the old 2mm slack (freeplay?) at the TB's and 1mm slack at the bars
I still set to 2mm slack at TB's, 1 1/2 turns of the BBS just the upper ones have confused me somewhat as you can't test for slack
I say confused as turning the throttle one clearly started turning up the idle RPM - is it as simple as that?? set it when it sounds about right then fine tune with the vaccum gauges?? - surely not!!!
