I was always attracted to the soft bags on Harley’s FXDXT T-Sport and when I found out LeatherPro is now recreating T-Sport Retro bags on limited runs I ordered a set. These bags are quick release and expandable, somewhat water resistant but not water proof. Rather than liters they list capacity as how many 12 ounce beer cans they can hold which is 35 per bag compressed and 54 when expanded. They cost $659 direct from LeatherPro. When I called and ordered them he asked where I heard about the Retro bags? After I said “on an HD forum” he quoted me $619. They arrived in a few days and I just put them on this evening.
Stock Dyna Glide turn signals need to be relocated to use these bags, actually probably any luggage. HD and others sell various relocation kits, I used one which utilized the license plate holder. There is some other small thing which needs adapted on the 2006 and up Dyna’s. I forget what it is but with mine being a 2004 it wasn’t necessary. Mounts consist of just two small chrome spools on each side.
You just position them on the spools and push down the locking lever which takes a bit of effort as it moves over center (sort of like Vise Grips). They are very secure and solid, no rattle whatsoever.
