I was lucky today to see the new solid billet alumiium gps mount made by Motorrad concepts for the 1200 adv, I'm looking for one for my tom tom. It clamps over the top bar and takes the ball of stanard tom tom mount very clean and looks very strong ad very simple. I have ordered one cost around £50.

I've been trying various (screen bar mounted) locations for my NavII with a RAM mount - none of which I'm entirely happy with.
BMW R1200GS Adventure Garmin GPS Mount in Aluminium (Type V) looks more suitable - what is this like for vibration ?

We've experienced zero vibration with either Garmin or TomTom Riders gps units fitted.......

Onbviously this is dependent on the screen adjustment screws which also holds the screen brace being fully tightened.......

We have noticed, however, that the small front subframe of both the standard 1200GS and the 1200GS Adventure is not an entirely rigid structure so anything fixed to it will move if conditions are severe enough to make the front subframe vibrate......

In our view any vibrations experienced under extreme operating conditions are more than outweighed by the advantages of having the GPS mounted in line of sight/peripheral vision......

As our regular customers will testify, if any of our products don't live up to our claims or your expectations we'll simply refund your purchase price.....

Cheers
