Hi there all,
After years of sports bikes, I finally am getting rid, and picking up a 2005 F650GS Dakar (silver!) on Saturday.
After being pulled by plod a couple of weeks ago, who gave me choice of tickets...125mph on M53, or 70 in a 40 (you can guess which I picked) I decided to get rid of my CBR600 and VFR750 to preserve my license, job, home and life (back to 9 points again!). BTW: These bikes will be for sale v.soon, if anyone is interested?
I also still have my excellent Honda XR250r for which I swapped my KX250 psychobike, which I loved, but getting a bit old for that stuff, green laning is the way to go these days!
So, as you may tell, I have some off road experience, equipment and will be seeking groups etc, for days and weekends out.
I had been planning for 18 months on towing my dirt bike to Morroco to see the Dakar in 09 behind my old Defender 90 which I love also, however Dakar is no longer in Senegal, as it's been moved to S.America???? (effin Al Qaida), so now may head down that way on the Beemer just for a bimble...any one else going that way in the next year or so?
Anyway...thanks for a great site...I look forward to wasting plentty my time here!
Ian
