Well after some waiting the license finally arrived.

Sold my ruger MkIII setup for competition for this. Walther 1911 license by Colt.

While not ac accurate as a dedicated target pistol i prefer the looks, fit and feel1911 case.jpg1911 rear.jpg1911 right.jpg

Over here we can only have long barrelled pistols. I have a GSG 1911 LBP, which is a fun thing to have. I started off with it trying to achieve accuracy, but in the end ditched that approach and now just hang party balloons all over the target board, and potatoes on sticks in the ground. At least you can see when you hit them. Not big and not clever for a 65 year old to giggle just a bit when a potato explodes, but who cares, I’m not doing it for a living anymore.

We are all kids at heart.

Yes we can have .22lr here. We used be able have 9mm but they stopped issuing licenses in 2014/5. anyone who has one can still keep it.

Can only be fire in a range technically

I also have this a little beretta model 72Beretta mod 72.jpg

Exactly way more fun. Lads i know with 9mm barely use them say the .22 is so much more fun
I quite quickly moved on to seeing how quickly I could empty the magazine too :D

One thing I found with mine was it was quite ammunition sensitive. Some it would have stoppages with, others not. I picked up a box of 500 from my local dealer being sold off cheap, and didn’t get a single issue with them. Yet some more expensive stuff would fail to cycle occasionally. :nenau

very nice, always had soft spot for these 2 pistols.

Beretta was first airsoft i had as a kid, got it as a kit when on holidays in France.

Colt is just a lovely pistol to shoot.

Lovely👍
I imported my 9mm Browning when I moved back from US 23 years ago. Unfortunately I didn’t keep up with the “ minimum range visits” at the time so my license was rescinded. Donated it to the club where I was a member. Would love another….

I recall that you had that on order, now for the fun. I shoot .22's more than anything else.

Takes time for applications lately as lot changes in local station. While no problems for me to get firearms just takes time for paperwork
