Just enquired about the 2025 Tracer gt + £17.000 sir.
Bit of a jump there

You can get a fully kitted R1250RS for that sort of money, which has shaft drive, 10% more power and 53% more torque. Maybe less if they offer discounts before the 1300cc version comes out.

I’m watching for the release of the 2025 model with interest, no doubt there will be a flood of reviews in due course . It seems to offer a lot which others don’t in terms of tech - Spec a 1250RS to be similar and the price shoots up, plus I don’t believe the R/S offers the option of the auto gearbox yet and this is of interest!

the base R1250RS is £13340 - you get a lot of toys added for £3600 including luggage and the electronic suspension.

I owned a 2015 Tracer which was a bargain basement bike with a superb engine. I currently own a 2016 R1200RS. I am comfortable in my mind which I would prefer to own if I was spunking £17k on a bike. The Yamaha is the old Tracer decked out in Boots No 7. The BMW has always been Hugo Boss.

They're bonkers prices. (€19k here....Altho the base Tracer is €12500....which is far more palatable)

We looked at a GT+ & MG Mandello last year, as a means of downsizing the stable.

In the end we went with an immaculate low mileage R1250RS Exclusive which seems to tick all the boxes. OK, the 2 year BMW warranty on a premium selection bike helped swing it & I suspect the pricepoint was made more attractive as RS sales had become a tad slow in expectation of a revised 1300.

Otherwise, the Yamaha - a nice ride, but struggles to hide the fact that it's derived from a much cheaper base model in some areas.
Then the Mandello - I saw far too many demo bikes with paint quality issues - mainly engine & gearbox. Flaking, bubbling with corrosion, colour mismatch - Hopefully it has been addressed on later bikes. We all know even the mothership has issues after all.
