Unfortunately it seems to be the style currently, even for road bikes with only 4" of suspension. https://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/en/models/roadster/f900r.htmlIt also leaves that big gap over the rear wheel which is not a great look imo. Small point maynr but easily aoidable at the design stage.
I'd be interested to know how shorter riders cope!
What was the seat height like once you had managed to climb aboard?I'd be interested to know how shorter riders cope!

Its why it looks like its wearing a nappy when the bash plates fitted ;o)Anyone have any idea why the sump has been designed like this . Surely a rubbish design for a trail bike![]()
Pretty thorough review by Ian on a VStrom 800 DE.I rode a Transalp, half expecting to get one but there was something that left me a bit cold about it.Think it’s the fact that all the power is high up the rev range which is not ideal,on that style of bike, unlike in the Hornet where it’s a fun toy.
Sat on a new V-Strom 800 the other day and it looked and felt lovely. Supposedly a great motor with MUCH more midrange than the Transalp even though outfight power is lower.
Must try get a demo.

hmmmmI still like it...10 weeks later...will it get stolen on London is my main concern...No, its not a lardy go 10 000 miles in 1 sitting GS. Is it easier to get on and hoon 10 miles an urban waitrose...yes. If I travel off motorway (my main option, always) will it be enough. YESRocketman, his best bikehmmmm
I'm very lucky to live in a village where I can leave my bikes, garage door open, keys in ignition etc. Horrified by some of the stories on here about khants nicking bikes, would do my head in living in places like that ffsI still like it...10 weeks later...will it get stolen on London is my main concern...No, its not a lardy go 10 000 miles in 1 sitting GS.
