Just got the new TomTom only to find that it doesn't support the live traffic
For my sins I have to use the M20,M26,M25 and A3 everyday and I really need to have the traffic, do any of the other Rider TT' have traffic or am I going to have to go down the Garmin route?

thanks

Surely its a subscription based service if its not preloaded?:nenau

I have a Garmin Nuvi which I used in my old car and the live traffic updates were completely useless. Most of the time it either said the road was clear when I was sat in a traffic jam, or it would say there was a traffic jam when the road was completely clear :blast

The live traffic on the inbuilt BMW Professional GPS system in my new 320d is 100 times better.

traffic update....or not

I have rung Tom Tom and that confirmed that traffic is not available on the Rider, it is not an option.

Crazy in my opinion, do they not think that we need traffic just because we are on bikes!

Unfortunately I am going to send my unit back.

What seems to be going on with Garmin is that they are now linking the SatNav to your smartphone. Garmin provide an App for the smartphone. You then use your smartphone data allowance to download Traffic updates to send to the device...which works out whether your route is affected etc.

Strewth!

Anyone using this system and is it any good?
